Past Â鶹¹ÙÍø President and NJIT Faculty Branko Kolarevic Has Passed Away

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Branko Kolarevic, the 2018-19 Â鶹¹ÙÍø president and an unfailing supporter of the organization. The former dean of the New Jersey Institute of Technology Hillier College of Architecture and Design died on January 29, surrounded by his family.

Dr. Kolarevic was the model of the international scholar and educator, having taught in Europe, Asia, Canada, and the United States. He authored and co-authored numerous books, including many that advanced architecture’s integration with digital technology. He also had a distinguished service record, serving as president of ACADIA (Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture) and the Canadian Architectural Certification Board.

Branko was the second Â鶹¹ÙÍø president elected from a Canadian school. He championed international connections throughout his term. Â鶹¹ÙÍø signed memorandums of understanding with Â鶹¹Ù꿉۪s counterparts in Europe, Mexico, and Australasia, and with the International Union of Architects. Dr. Kolarevic was also instrumental in initiating the first in an ongoing series of Teachers Conferences, held jointly with the European Association for Architectural Education.

His family has suggested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a legacy scholarship fund. .
